What’s the difference between hemp and CBD?

This is where things get a little interesting. CBD is extracted from hemp. But to get CBD from hemp, a special process is used. For example, a normal hemp process might just be cold pressing in order to obtain hemp seed oil but to get CBD you have to perform an extraction process like CO2 extraction.

It important to know that CBD oil is not the same thing as hemp seed oil, they don’t have the same properties. Hemp seed oil is derived from the seeds of the hemp plant only meaning there is almost no CBD. The oil is rich in healthy omega-3 fatty acids but it doesn’t have the same benefits as a CBD oil. It’s important to look out for this distinction to make sure you’re getting what you’re actually looking for.

CBD oil is made from the leaves, flowers, and stalks of the hemp plant—the only parts of the plant where cannabidiol is found. It is a compound naturally present in hemp, which has no psychoactive effect and offers even more interesting well-being and cosmetic properties than hemp seeds. In order to achieve high levels of purity, most manufacturers work with an advanced method of C02 extraction, a long and complex process to ensure a full decarboxylation to provide a high level of CBD. This method offers the advantage of remaining natural and the resulting CBD can then reach up to 99.9% purity.
